Somebody that I've really come to LOVE is Lady Gaga.

No apologies. I know a lot of people think she's a total weirdo, has no style, is ugly, and can't sing for shiz...

But...That's probably what makes me like her even more. Well. I think she can sing anyway. If you actually listen properly to her album she has skeeeels. Oh, and there are heaps of youtube vids around of when she was more 'normal' per se, was a brunette, and simply sat at a piano in a dress and sang. So, you know.

In any case, I like that she's not the traditional 'beauty', but really, that's not even an issue. Her style is CRAZY, and I love it. At first I wasn't so sure about the whole 'Let's not wear pants in public and walk around in a leotard' thing, but really. She has worn and created some amazing stuff. Um, the orbit, anyone? AMAZING.

Anywho, instead of measuring my clothes, I've been sitting here trawling the internet for some outfits of hers that I like.

Butterfly Detailing on the gloves, glasses, and hat. That's what made it for me.

This is my FAVOURITE. I wish someone could mainstream this. I think it'd be amazing with crazy layers of fabric in place of the icicles. [Although, I have to say, I love the icicles.]

I even like her more casual style. And look! The crazy icicles!

Colour co-ordination win.

Love the shoes and the style of the dress.

I think I just like this because of the face mask and the lace...

I pretty much love everything about this.

Class.

Some of these things I wouldn't ever wear. But I think it's almost always like that with runway shows and what not. You just take what you like, and what's within your style, and work with it your own way.

That's why it's called 'personal style'.

Love much,
xx

I'm sort of almost done with my closet clear out.

Ish.

Well, no. I haven't really been organising anything, I've just been scouring my wardrobe and walk-in wardrobe for sellable items. It's CRAZY the things you find, seriously. Well. I don't think I really have anything super fantasmic to find from my own purchases, but my walk-in is a treasure trove. I never really put anything I wear in there coz it's all dark and freaky, but I FINALLY ventured into it today, and yeah. Well, it's probably all thanks to my mum. She's like a blazer factory. She has a kazillion of them. Funny too, because I've been casually looking for a cream blazer. Well, what do you know, there was one in my walk-in wardrobe. It has shoulder pads though, which I'm not particularly fond of, but...it doesn't look that bad at all. So yay!! It even still has a tag on it. =/ Crazy.

Also rediscovered these funky grandpa pants that my brother [of all people], found in an op shop. He bought them 1 or 2 years back for a 'box social' his friends had. They fit me as well. =D These might come in handy when me and Lauren decide to play dress up and wander around in our 'fashion blogger'-esque clothes. HAHHAHA. Yeah, we're kind of strange like that.

Anyway...So I have about 22 pieces of clothing to sell so far. that doesn't actually sound like much, but it's quite the hefty pile. I have stuff from Sportsgirl, Tsubi, Ladakh, American Apparrel, etc. in there. Really, REALLY depressing to get rid of to be honest. Ah well. Hopefully they'll bring in lots of monies to console me. =[

Also selling some shoes as well, although I'm pretty sure they won't fetch much. I'm not willing to let go of my heels, even if I can't walk in them. Yeah I know, I have detachment issues. But I am determined to one day walk in those heels and not feel like I'm going to tumble over and die.

Sigh. When my room cools down I'll have to go and take photos of everything and measure all the stuff. URGHHHH. I don't think anywhere in my house has enough light to get nice photos though. Fork. I wish I could steal a mannequin. Clothes always looks better when it's actually on something. =/ Hm...I'll figure it out.

In any case, It should all come together in the next couple of days. Yay!

xx

P.S. I can't resist. I'm buying the darn boots. If they look bad, I'll just sell them. HA! I haven't bought nice shoes since November. SO GIVE ME A BREAK! XD I just...won't eat out for a couple of weeks. Fair trade.

So on the 21st I went to a concert with Roger with at the Metro Theatre. It was the Calvin Harris concert with the Cassette Kids and some DJ peeps as the opening acts. It was prettyyyy funky. We got there pretty early so we managed to get right up on the barricade. =D Unfortunately though, we were in a spot where Roger got superly blinded by the light, and after the cassette kids we moved amongst the crowd more so that he didn't end up with a seizure or something. lmao. Poor guy. But it was actually pretty cool that way. The atmosphere was CRAZY. All the sweaty people elbowing you in the head as they jumped around, beer cup in hand, spilling alcohol onto your unsuspecting legs. LOL. I make it sound great, don't I? =P But nah, it was epic. And jumping around like a psycho is fun too. =D Oh, and by the way, the music was awesome. =D I didn't bring my camera along so I used my phone instead. I tried to get a pic of all three acts, but seriously, getting a decent pic of Calvin Harris is impossible. People were going nuts. lmao. In any case, have a look. =]

The DJ peeps.

The Cassette Kids. Her skirt was epicly short. And I'm sure she flashed a LOT of people. But hey, when you're in a band, who really cares?

Calvin Harris. STOP MOVING CALVIN!!!

All in all, I had a heaps awesome night. =]

Also, I just wanted to show you these pair of boots on eBay that I want. They're the thigh high type, and they're apparently 'artificial leather' [but really, they look suede, which is probably why I'd want them more], and..really. they're just plain funky looking.

And very impractical. Probably impossible to wear during rain, a thin heel, and the little elastic detailing things on them don't actually stay where they're supposed to. Um. You'll see what I mean in the pic.

See? Even in the pics you can see the elastic-ish bits malfunctioning.

Hm...It's sad to say that it still doesn't really put me off though. Only thing putting me off is that it's $52 incl. postage. Although if you think about it, that's not too bad for boots. But even so! It's enough to deter me. For now. =[

Anywhooo, that's it. =]

Date: 22nd January, 2010

Victim: The closet

Suspects: Duong, eBay

Details:
Victim discovered by fashion police earlier today. Crime scene in disarray. Articles of clothing strewn across floor, bed, and desk. Suspect apprehended at the scene. Suspect names accomplice during questioning.

So....

Obviously I've been playing too much Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney on my lovely Nintendo DS. In any case, I've started the almighty task of clearing out my closet. Well. Actually, first stop was my desk. It's where I plonked all my eBay purchases because my closet was too packed. -_- I'm actually letting go of quite a few items that I love. It's a shame they didn't fit well enough, I'm probably going to be really devastated once I list them on eBay. Ah well. =[

I haven't actually started on my closet yet. It's pretty daunting. And honestly, I don't think I have anything in my closet worth selling since it's some more of my older-ish stuff. But we'll see, you never know what you'll find in a clean out. Except a dead bug or two. That's always a bit disturbing. I'll probably be selling some of my shoes as well. Hm...

It's boiling in my room at the moment. That's why I had to stop after I finished sorting my desk. Trying on clothes, and taking off clothes is hard work. Especially in 40 degree heat. I'll probably get back to it later tonight when my room cools down. At the moment though, it looks unlikely that I'll finish sorting and listing. But, at least I've finally started, so that's something I'm pleased about. =]

In other news, I am sick. -_- I have a cold. I've been pumping myself with so much medicine though. It's not as bad as it could be I reckon. I first started feeling a bit off on Sunday, so I should be alright soon enough. I actually think taking medicine is prolonging it though. As strange as that sounds. It's like I'm just putting off the worst to later. =/ But nah. I'm okay. I just sound really nasally, and I'm sneezing a bit and have the odd cough. >.>

Arghhh. I wanted to blog about the concert I went to yesterday as well. (I was less sick yesterday, so it was fine. lol. I didn't even sneeze on anyone! Sometimes sharing is not caring. loll) Hm....I might do that tomorrow then. I think I've been rambling enough today.

So...that's it!

In response to Nicole's comment: Of course I would do it!! Hm...I would probably do it with Roger, but he's scared of heights and me and water don't compute. LOL. So I think we'd be eliminated first leg. If I wanted an actual chance at winning though, I'd probably go with one of my friends. =P [Just kidding roger, I would actually choose you >.>] =P Oh, and also, I TOTALLY WOULD'VE GONE DOWN THAT SLIDE!! That thing is epic! Seriously, if I ever go to Dubai, I am going down that thing. Okay, your turn to answer. =D

In other news...

I found this lovely site when I was wandering around the Sartorialist's blog. http://artofthetrench.com/ It's a campaign by Burberry, and I have to say, it's pretty awesome. So awesome, that it makes me want to buy a trench. Shame most of theirs are amazingly expensive. So I guess now that I'm set for spring/summer, I'm looking toward winter. I'm determined to find a bargain though. So luckily, I've given myself over 2 seasons to look for one. =P Ah, thank goodness for cheap chain store copies.

My exam study is going appallingly by the way. The first exam went alright though. The two units I have left haven't handed our major assessments back though, so I'm not really sure how well I actually have to do in the exam. Garh.

By the way, there's only 42 days until Christmas. Crazy right?

I feel like wrapping myself in Christmas lights and running into the night. Um. Pretend you didn't read that.

Love,
xx

I told you that I'd show you the hat I bought on eBay, so here it is.

This is how it looked when I bought it.

Not bad. In the picture that is. When it arrives in the mail, it's HUGE! In terms of sun protection, that's probably not a bad thing, but it looked very, very, peculiar on my head. I wish I had taken a photo, but...before I chickened out, I got a scissors and seriously just cut the brim. Like, just chopped it up. Snip snip!

So, essentially, I killed a vintage hat.

But now, I love it. =D Honestly, it took me about an hour to restitch the edges once I had cut it down to size, and the rewiring was one of the most frustrating tasks ever, but I think that just made me even prouder of my accomplishment. I just figured that I wouldn't ever wear it if I left it how it was, so yeah. This is how it looks now. Featuring my head.

Ah, I love goofy pictures of myself. I feel silly when I smile, so you know, pulling a face just tends to be easier. The second photo is how I naturally tend to hold my face anyway. bahhaha!

But yeah, back to the point. Now it just looks like a bowler hat. I prefer it that way. =]

Also, got a high waisted skirt in the mail today, and it was horrific. It fit. But I was flashing all over the joint, so I gave it to my sister who is lucky at the moment to not have crazy wide baby bearing hips. [She'll wish she had my hips when she decides to pop out one though. muahaha.] The skirt was only $7.50 anyway, so no big loss. Guess I'm starting to get less clingy with my purchases. Time to donate to charity! Or just offer to give you guys items that don't fit/that aren't my taste anymore...hm...

Oh, I might be missing for about a week since it'll be my hardcore assessment week.

Wish me luck guys!
xx

P.S. I'm sucking on soothers right now. Really hoping I don't get sick, considering colds won't even get you an extension on an assessment. Fail.

Yesterday I went to change the snake skin shoes for the suede. It was pretty epic. I went to Bankstown and they didn't have the suede, and the kind lady tried to track down some pairs for me while berating the online store peeps and telling me about her daughter who also had a bad online store experience. hehe. She found a pair that was at roselands, and said that I would be able to go there and change it and also get 20 bucks back for the hassle and all that stuff. So she called up the Roselands store and told them about the situation, and then my parents and I headed over there.

So, now I have my lovely suede shoes, and also saved 20 dollars. [Which I immediately wasted on phone credit..lol]

This is what they look like.

They're not platform, so they're not that high, and they're actually quite comfortable to walk in. I really like them. =]

Now, just to wait for this weather to clear up so I can wear them...

I've fallen in love with a shoe.

I went out late night shopping with lauren today, and I saw this absolutely amazing shoe. Let's face it, I have problems. loll, I wouldn't be surprised if I was one of those people that got married to inanimate objects. Anyway, problem is, it's Tony Bianco, i.e. EXPENSIVE. $169.95 to be exact. Funny thing though, it's called "Don", and it'll probably live up to its name too. It'll kill my bank account and then while I'm wearing it, I'll probably topple over and die. lmao. Still love it though. Have a looksee.

It also comes in a non patent black, and champagne colour, which I have to say, is pretty damn nice. Anyway, you'll all probably think it's hideous, but unlike the other shoe I showed you, I love everything about this. lol. Time to practice some self restraint. =[

Early b'day present anyone? XD [at least it isn't a 600 buck xbox right? =P]

I'll blog about the outing with loz and the one yesterday with squidge...sometime tomorrow. Also recent eBay purchases, coz I've made a few. They're pretty interesting too. I think you'll start questioning my taste soon. If you haven't already. lmao.

Talk then.

Before I do anything, my eBay account name is fishimi. =P Seriously, I use that name everywhere. -_- It's effective though, no one else is a loser and uses it as a username so it makes life easier and...numberless. If you get..what..I mean....

Anywaaay, I'll tell you about my day yesterday! Aside from seeing Roger in the day, I went out to dinner with Gurpie, John, and Huy. There was trackwork, so Gurpie and I had to catch the bus to Bankstown and get the train from there. I let gurpie play with my camera the whole night, so 99% of the photos are randoms, including pictures of grass or whatnot, so here's a few of the more normal ones. =P

I was in the middle of talking, but it sort of looks like im smiling, so whatevs. =P

The awesome sign at Bankstown Station lol

John on the train! You can see my reflection in the background. lol, gurpie didn't take any pics of huy though. He came late so missed out on her photo taking spree at the station. -_- lol

But anywho, it was just a little get together. A bit smaller than the usual, but considering how it panned out, that's probably a good thing. loll, Huy, who I haven't seen since he was dating Linda [a girl that I spent 4 years in English class with in high school], is very....out there. lol. He wasn't very shy with asking all the random nosy 'so tell me about your sex life' type questions. I was kind of expecting it though. The first time I met Roger it was thanks to Huy and Linda. =] It's pretty different though because the other guys NEVER ask about that stuff, and don't mention roger so much at all actually. I think Gurpie and John were a bit unsure what to make of the whole thing really.

But nah, it was actually quite nice. Dinner was at Thai Pothong, which is where we went for Gurpie's b'day last year. Gotta love Newtown and the kazillion thai restaurants it has to offer. =D Anyway, after dinner we just walked around for a bit, and then since we didn't really have anything to do, we hopped in Huy's car and he drove us around for like...an hour and a half or something with various pit stops along the way, e.g. Maccas for a bathroom stop [Which was fricken disturbing btw, um, how can you chuck a number 2 and miss the toilet?! HOW?!], and then various video stores that were all closed =[ So we just headed to liz's since she wasn't opposed to having us crash there at 11:30 at night.

When we got there we jus twatched a movie with her and her sisters, with occasional talking and whatnot until...

'Guys, I need to go, I need to go to the hospital'.

Gurpie had gotten a call from her cousin saying that her brother hadn't come home and so she was trying to find out where he was and everything and then got a message from his best friend telling her to go home and that they needed to get to the hospital. So we hopped back into huy's car and he dropped gurpie home first. Turns out her brother was at home, but vomiting. He had gone to the hospital but got released. So thank goodness everything was sort of okay there. Then yeaah, Huy dropped me home. =]

Anywaaaaay, I think you probably all know by now that I have this strange love for platform shoes. I was hovering around the American eBay and looking at their shoes since I've been a little let down by the Aus site lately. And then I saw these:

As Vonny pointed out, the shoes look kind of big on those feet. Howeveeerr, I still like them. =D These are probably the only pointed toe shoes I would ever like. Also they're patent, which usually wouldn't float my boat either. The heel is thin too, and if you know how unco I am, then...well, that probably isn't too good either. BUT aside from all that...IT'S LOVE! I dunno if I would ever buy it though, but it's nice to look at nevertheless. =] [edit: general consensus is that these shoes are hideous. LOL. I'm gunna make a post next time and show you the kind of shoes I like so you can tell me how my taste compares to yours, fun? yes!]

Also, I went to woolies today. I needed to buy all this random stuff to make chocolate mousse. loll. I'll let you know how it turns out. Anyway, I've found a new magazine to fawn over every month. SHOP til you drop is pure awesome. It's jam packed with clothes and where to buy them. Hm...along with my brand new debit mastercard, this is probably going to be bad for my bank account..but..well....at least I get to test out my willpower! =P

Oh. One last thing. I got my uni results. 2 Credits, 2 Distinctions. I'm pretty happy. I'm a bit headdesky at Geoscience though. I got the same mark for it 3 semesters in a row. like wtf! Sigh, at least I'm consistent, right?

Love much,
xx

you know how people say that every girl needs a little black dress for her wardrobe?

Well, I have about a kazillion of them.

And I'm looking to add more to the collection! But it's odd, even though it's seen as an essential, I barely ever wear them. Maybe it's because I haven't found 'the one'. I dunno. I suppose if you have lots you don't need to find 'the one' anyway, since you already have loads to choose from. ha. [n.b. this does not apply to bfs. =P]

In my next entry I'll show you the stuff I'm watching/buying from eBay while I've been procrastinating. And how much it cost me. Just so you get an idea of how much I'm actually willing to spend. Exciting, huh?

...I appreciate your fake enthusiasm. =D

Love lots,

O.M.G.

While I was tossing and turning in bed last night until like fricken 3am, a thought struck me. My mum has a kazillion blazers. I wasn't sure about..you know.,how the styling would be, but I had a peek anyway. My mum went off shopping and I stayed home and practically raided her closet. lmao.

She had like 8 blazers. No joke. But...one was too big. fail. half of them had shoulder padding. EPIC FAIL. [I don't care how many people think shoulder pads are back, they look hideous. On me anyway.] One was checkered. That's an interesting one...lmao. It looks okay oddly enough. But I don't think I'm brave enough to wear it out. hahhahahah. Anyway. The last two are like....perfect. One's navy blue, and the other is...black. I think. It's kind of dark browny black. And it has some stripe-age going. but it looks pretty. =] AND THEY FIT reaaaaallly nicely. So, I'm a very happy girl. Muahahahhahh. And I didn't even have to spend any moolah.

...

So much for hiatus. loll

Off to study!

My attempt at neglecting eBay is over. We're back together and happier than ever. Expect wedding invites soon, and little eBay babies.

Okay, that's just creepy.

I won the item I was bidding on. I got it for 16 bucks. Which isn't too shabby really. =] Since Lauren said she wanted to seeee, this is what I bought!

Looks nice and beat up doesn't it? Apparently that's the inteded look though, so...it shouldn't fall apart too easily. hahaha. I was looking for blazers actually and after the unsatisfactory results I just started looking for jackets in general, and...I dunno. This is a bit more unusual. I think that's why I like it. I see a lot of potential for it. =]

It should come in the mail by the end of the week! I'll show you what it looks like when it arrives. =D

I'm waking up SUPER early to go shopping tomorrow. For nothing in particular. It's just that every shop seems to be having a sale at the moment, so maybe I'll be able to find loads of nice and cheap stuff. Hopefully I'll get home nice and early too, then I can have a huge study session after feeling satisfied with all that shopping. lmao.

I'm currently looking out for a circle scarf by the way. Let me know if you see one!

Love much,
xx

P.S. If you're curious about how my study regime is gunna go, this is my plan:

Tomorrow and Wednesday - Education
Thurs - Sunday - Political Economy

Yes. Ecop is receiving some hardcore attention. I'll be abandoning msn while I study too. If I'm online and want to talk, I'll actually come online. If not, I'm not gunna sign in on msn. I need to focus!! Sorry homies! Talk soon.

Okay, so I have a theory. It's about boring stuff, but I reckon it's a good theory, so yes. Bear with me. lol.

Anyone that's been reading the newspaper, or has seen the news, will have known that North Korea is going nuts with their nuclear missile tests. You may also have heard that they're disregarding all the warnings and threats from the international community to cut it out. I personally think that there's going to be a war. Okay, you may be thinking that that's a bit rash, particularly since..you know...we don't even know what they're planning on doing with the missiles or whatevs, BUT, I think its going to happen. AND, I think it's going to be what pulls us out of the global financial crisis. Well...if its a large war that is, and also if we're still struggling with the financial kerfuffle. But yes. It makes sense in my head. and I think it's plausible. Wouldn't be too bad if I was wrong though. =P

Anyway, onto something more uplifting!

I ended up buying the lace gloves. From supre. It's shameful I know [I actually have a lot of supre clothes, which oddly enough..mostly come from eBay.....]. But anyway, I am in love with them. If I could marry a big lacy glove and have little lacey children I would. LOL. Okay, maybe not that extreme, but you know, close. I'll probably be wearing them out a lot. I just need to figure out all the outfits and stuff I can pair it with. Be afraid homies, I think my desires to dress like a psycho just got kicked up a notch. MUAHAHAHAH! Nothing wrong with being a bit more out there though. It'll probably be good for my confidence levels and identity building, which I seemed to miss out on during the high school phase. So yes!

I look forward to going out, and taking photos, and debuting my new love for dressing like an idiot. =] HOLIDAAAAYS! I want you now! =[

Anyway, we'll talk later, okay? I'm off to do some nerdy gaming while I procrastinate my pants off. reoow.

Later guestimator,

Okay. I am seriously itching to get out and about in these heels and take them for a test run. By wearing them I gain an extra 11.5cm in height. Not too shabby eh? =P

Maybe if I'm not out sometime soon, I should just wear these to woolies or something. LOL.

By the way, yes, that's in my bathroom. A disaster waiting to happen, I know. lmao.

I need to try to keep myself away from eBay. My shopping addiction might lead me into buying something like...harem pants. =P

Somebody chain me to a [non-computer] chair!

Fashion fix

If you ever stalk fashion blogs as often as I do, a common theme that will come up is American Apparel. Everyone talks about the versatility of their clothes and I remember visiting their site awhile ago and being all..hm....it's a shame they're not in Aus. Then WTF! I visit today [when I'm suppose to be writing my essay *headdesk*] and apparently there's a store in Sydney...and an online store for Australians too. GWAH?! And I mean that in the best way possible.

Although...

If you actually have a look at a lot of the clothes, you'd really just want to facepalm yourself.

It's still nice to know that if I ever did want something from there that it's now a possibility though. So that makes me happy. =D

I'm really itching for the holidays. And to alter some clothing. I'm in that creative kind of mood that only procrastination can bring about.

Field trip for uni tomorrow. Let's hope it's good.

Later rollerblader,
xx

P.S. I'm feeling like a dinner outing on Friday/Saturday night. Who's in!
P.P.S. I'm feeling a bit better. =]
